Of blips in the same yarn

Prologue

Lo there fluttered cupid
burdened by sin and sorrow.
In search of a lone answer;
the elusive golden arrow.
Couples blended in heaven’s
furnace he couldn’t break.
Romanced in utter merry;
his scorned pride was at stake.
For mortals with false fancies
he strangled the tipsy air.
Those immortals he envied;
for, he could only vainly stare.

Epilogue

Leaves of shy ochre and green
under a morning’s misty coat.
Bobbing in and out on a lolling
silver tongue was a banana boat.

Roasted nuts with spinach
in a hawker’s newspaper fold.
Holy cow digging a municipal
basket of rot; snacks unrolled.
An eagle’s roaring wing and
the howling wind beneath it.
Urchin’s silent prayers for a
a tiny morsel he happily split.
Mother’s ocean of unending
love to her new born child.
A father’s simpering temper
on a juvenile; never any mild.
The aura of a sincere wish
pervading a sinner’s dark lips.
The soothing crunch in the
death of creamy potato chips.
Leery eyes stripping flimsy
inches of an exposed skirt.
Faint moppet fingers dancing
with gay in dusty brown dirt.
A dusk bidding adieu to a
never ending crimson horizon.
The scented kiss of my lusty
words on paper; my only liaison.
To the yesterday who lay
dead at today’s unrequited feet.
The enchanted wait for another
colored future; cloaked as a treat.

PS: This poem begins with a forlorn cupid who fails at breaking the bond of a few immortal pairs, the rest is just a mélange of lesser known and appreciated couples who have escaped our nosy minds so far.
